that magic bullet (push or pull it)
to wave the wand and make the dawn
come now.
no more pain, just lauded gain
and banished fears, wiped-up tears,
lions, lambs and party plans
right now.
so take that wood (as if I could
to nails submit, or any part of it).
i want no cross, i want no cost -

“Gospel preaching sometimes goes this way: the holy Creator God set forth a holy law, which that God demands we keep. In rebellion, we transgressed God’s law, and now deserve death. In his mercy, though, God gave his own Son in our pleace, so we don’t have to die. If we believe in this Good [...]

To Yahweh belong earth and all it holds, the world and all who live in it; He himself founded it on the ocean, based it firmly on the nether sea.
Who has the right to climb the mountain of Yahweh, who the right to stand in His holy place?

Oh. Oh. Oh. (Regarding this article—wow, it’s good stuff).
Why have I known all this stuff in my head, but have continued walking by my own might? What is it about our own strength that is so attractive? I mean, come on, it’s a heavy load bearing the weight of the universe on our shoulders! What is it [...]

I echo many of the great comments on this post: it can’t just be about going to church on Sunday, or having the *right* set of doctrinal beliefs or knowing the right Christian lingo (whether it’s the old school stuff or the new emergent buzzwords). I am on my second day of eating raw foods (meaning, uncooked). I have no idea if this will do ANYthing for the cyst, but I figure…it’s worth a shot. I’ve needed to do a detox for awhile now, but it’s kind of impossible when you are constantly pregnant or nursing, you know?
I felt like [...]

The Gospel is multi-faceted, so including stewardship of the earth and kindness to the poor as *part of spreading the Good News* isn’t “anti-Gospel” at all, in my book, only an outworking of it. Some lay charges at the feet of the Emerging Movement, saying things like,
Emergent leaders are not wrong to be concerned about [...]

I posted details over at CHblog, so I won’t repeat all that here, but if you can, will you pray? It’s for me, and I’m going in for surgery. Blah.
Surgeries are weird…you look forward to them so that you will feel better FINALLY, yet last time (the only time, actually) I had surgery (in this same [...]

“To whom God would make known what is the riches of the glory of this mystery among the Gentiles; which is Christ in you, the hope of glory:
Whom we preach, warning every man, and teaching every man in all wisdom; that we may present every man perfect in Christ Jesus:
Whereunto I also labour, striving according [...]
